Directors Festival, and Auditions. Bailiwick
Repertory has internships available for the fall season (September
thru December), Winter (January through May) or Summer (June,
July August) Seasons. Internships are available in all
areas of Design:

Be
sure to include your email and phone, your area of interest
and please detail how you think you can best contribute to
the work of the Bailiwick Arts Center, and what you hope to
gain from working with our artists. Also include the
time frame during which you need to complete your internship,
and the amount of time you may be required to put into your
internship. We strive to give all interns specific tasks
and responsibilities, to maximize your learning experience. All
internships are non-paid, but provide excellent experience
and opportunities to work with a variety of professionals working
in this building at any given time
SCRIPT
SUBMISSIONS
Bailiwick
Repertory accepts unsolicited submissions of new full-length
and one-act plays, in the following literary categories:
The
Mainstage Series consists of: new musicals, new dramas
(mostly by Chicago authors), or other work that is experimental
in nature. These may be previously produced works. Works
that reflect the diversity of our community are encouraged. Neil
Simon type comedies or 'commercial works' are not encouraged.
Deaf
Bailiwick Artists seeks work that will help to develop
the artistic voice of the deaf community. These may
be previously produced works. Out All Year includes
work premieres, as well as works not previously seen in Chicagoland. This
includes all types of performance pieces -- musicals, dramas,
performance, one-person, etc.
The
Lesbian Theater Initiative considers all works, preferably
penned by women, including poetry, performance, one-acts,
et al. Send works attention LTI.
The
Directors Festival of one act plays has new works grouped
by theme. Applications for the festival are submitted
by directors, but if you would like to send a play to be
considered by directors interested in applying, send materials

Bailiwick's
College/University Playwriting Festival is in its second
year. We are searching for one full length, and one
one-act work to be performed during Out All Year in Summer
'06. Submission guidelines will be available soon. Send
materials attention College/University Playwriting Festival,
Bailiwick Repertory, 1229 West Belmont, Chicago, IL 60657 All scripts, unless otherwise
noted, should be sent to the attention of Artistic Director,
David Zak. We prefer full script submissions, not just
a synopsis. Send resume/bio of author, plus production
history of the piece. Scripts will be recycled, so
sending SASE is not necessary.
AUDITIONS
Bailiwick is always looking for confident men who sing and move
well for extensions of Barenaked Lads In The Great Outdoors. Send

shows are cast throughout the year. If you would like

Directors Festival
The Chicago Directors Festival is now in its 20th year and welcomes
directors from across the country into a one act play festival. We
are now seeking directors applications for our Spring 2007
Festival. To down load all the information and application
please revisit this space after September 1, 2006.
